THE REASONS FOR THE DHARMA ASSEMBLY, ONE
Thus I have heard, at one time the Buddha dwelt at Shravasti in the Jeta
Grove in the Garden of the Benefactor of Orphans and the Forlorn, together
with a gathering of great Bhikshus, twelve hundred fifty in all. At meal
time the World Honored One put on his robe, took up his bowl and entered
the great city of Shravasti to collect alms. After he had finished his
sequential alms-round, he returned to his dwelling. When his meal was
completed, he put his robe and bowl away. After he washed his feet, he
arranged his seat and sat down.
